"How do you manage your personal and academic life?"
The secret is: no sleep. It's like I don't get a chance to waste my time, I have to be super efficient with it. I did get very lucky with my in-laws too, especially my mother in law. She's willing to look after my son for even 12 hours at a stretch when I'm here. Of course there is a taboo that girls don't need to go for higher education but it really depends on your drive. You should really, really want to get that degree and be willing to sacrifice your time and energy. And it's absolutely heart-warming how supportive all the students and instructors at LUMS are. As a mother, it is indeed hard for me to leave him home and come here but I'm in a very competitive environment. I'm being compared to people that are full time students and don't have any other major responsibilities like I do. So yeah, you need to sacrifice a little bit of everything to achieve your goals.
